The hominy corn kernels have been soaked in an alkali solution before grinding. White Hominy Grits can be made sweet or savory and are delicious any time of day. Simmer them in milk for breakfast or flavor them with butter and a sprinkle of salt for lunch. White Hominy Grits are a convenient ingredient to have in your pantry -- they're versatile and cook fairly quickly. Savory grits pair well with shrimp, ham, fish, eggs, cheese, and more. And, there's nothing quite as comforting as a bowl of warm grits! This product is kosher and gluten free. Preparation: Grits can be cooked in other liquids, but this is the basic preparation in water. Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan. Slowly and carefully add 1 cup of White Hominy Grits. Stir and scrape down the sides of the pan well. Lower heat and simmer for 12 minutes or until tender. Storage: Store grits in a cool, dry place.
