This wild rice is hand parched from the inland lakes of Canada. Hand parched by the Ojibwa Indians using a traditional method they have used for years. "Real" Wild Rice grows wild in clear lakes and is not genetically modified and altered like other grains available in the US. It grows on non-depleted soils at the bottom of pristine lakes and is planted by Mother Nature. This type of wild rice is "hand harvested (parched)" which has been parched by the Ojibwa Indians using their traditional methods. This rice is a lighter colored rice than the Canadian Jumbo.
