Wild-caught, Northern Pacific and Alaska salmon are firm of flesh, rich in color and high in nutrients, especially heart-healthy Omega 3 fatty acids. Our wild-caught salmon comes from Bristol Bay and the Cook Inlet in Alaska, as well as from the icy waters of the Pacific Northwest. It is harvested using sustainable fishing practices. This hot smoked salmon is first brined in a salt/sugar/seasoning solution, then smoked over alder wood (which adds a rich, smoky flavor) and then finished in sealed, foil pouches in its own natural juices. This makes each piece softer, more moist and flakier than lox, gravlox, or cold smoked fish, all of which are prepared and processed differently. The natural juice adds both flavor and richness to dips, spreads, pasta dishes, omelets, frittatas, quiches, chowders and other favorite recipes (smoked salmon recipes are included). The peppered sockeye offers a little spice, while the naturally flavored sockeye and pink smoked salmon offer a simply delicious flavor that can't be beat! This product is also a very handy pantry item, convenient and ready to eat right from the pouch. No refrigeration is necessary until the pouch has been opened.
